What is hypnosis?

It can be described as a state of altered conciousness; it can best be described as a day dreaming state, similar to the time just before going to sleep or just after waking up. It is a state of intense relaxation and concentration in which the mind becomes remote and detached from everyday cares and concerns. In this state the subconcious mind is able to respond creatively to suggestion. It is a state similar to the one that occurs spontaneously in day dreaming in which the person becomes aware of their inner being, their emotions and their state of mind as to make it possible to work and transform those emotions and states which may become a problem.
